WWF Attitude (E3 '99 Test Versions)

First off, the PlayStation once again has a kick ass FMV featuring all of the WWF Superstars when the machine turns on. The N64 simply takes you straight to the main menu.

- MENU -
The menus is alot more detailed now than in WarZone. All of the match options we've been told about are there. Selecting 2-4 players opens up certain match options and disables others. For some reason there was no option for a cage match on either system. There are both "Triangle" and "Triple Threat" matches in the match options. One of them is a elimation type match, the other is first to get a pinfall wins. You can make just about any type of combination you want, it's totally wide open for options.

- CREATE A WRESTLER -
To follow the theme of Attitude, this too is very much more detailed than the CAW in WarZone. Sure, a lot of clothes are repeated from WarZone but they are all much clearer and there twice as many new clothing options. Also, your created wrestler has many personality options including: Crowd (Boo,Cheer, etc), Fighting Style, Theme Song, Entrance (pyros, lights, etc), Run-In Partner, and Voice/Grunts. As you can see, each wrestler can be very different from the next one you create, unlike in WarZone where they all had pretty much the same taunts and grunts and stuff.

- GAMEPLAY -
The most commonly heard question around Attitude was "Are the buttons just like WarZone?" And apparently many were diappointed to find out that the gameplay is pretty much the same. If you just walked up while someone was in the middle of the match, it looks a lot like WarZone. But the depth of the gameplay is what has drastically changed. It may not LOOK much different, but to the person playing it, it's a lot deeper.

- CREATE A PPV -
This is one of the options that makes up for what some people are disappointed about in the gameplay area. The CAPPV is unbelievably diverse. Eight matches...any way you want them (Tag, Single, 3-way, War, Rumbles, Survivor Series, etc), and with any match stipulations you want. It's a hell of a lot of fun. Lighting, curtains, ropes, turnbuckles, ringside floorpads and everything can all be altered for your PPV. The combinations are infinite. This part of the game was not complete on either system though. Once you selected "Play PPV" the system would crash. All of the options were viewable though and I'm sure everyone is going to love it.

- CAREER -
Pretty much everything about Career mode has already been explained. And believe me, it will take you a long time to get through it. Attitude is going to have a lot more hours of gameplay to conquer the game than WarZone did.

- ENTRANCES -
This is what you've been waiting for and I'm here to tell you, you will not be disappointed. The entrances (that are finished) are stunning! Austin has the skull and 3:16 glass over the entrance way and it breaks as he walks through. The camera angles are stellar. Each person's walk to the ring is exactly the same as the real life counter part. Austin stomps down the ramp, stops halfway down the aisle, looks around pissed off, gets in the ring and then jumps up on the turnbuckle. It's bad ass!
Rock walks really slow to the ring, looking around all the time. He even does the little head twitch as he steps through the ropes.
Undertaker's entrance is one of the best. The lights go out, torches light all the way up the aisle and across the stage and then he walks out very slowly. He makes his way to the stairs and raises the lights...it's perfect!
Kane's is just as cool. The torches light and the fire blasts at the exact right times. Once in the ring he lights the turnbuckles on fire as the lights come back on.
Gangrel DOES come from under the stage through the fire and walks like he's carrying the chalice but it hasn't been added in yet. He even does the drink and spit on the stairs.
Al Snow also comes out with the animation of banging head and carrying it but Head hasn't been added into the animation yet.
Road Dogg comes out holding a mic to his mouth and one arm in the air and walks back and forth on the stage and down the aisle going to the fans and stuff.
I sat there for a good 30 minutes just watching intros! They are so good it's unbeleivable. Not all are done though. Droz for example just walks to the ring with no camera changes or anything. But they will all have their own distinct entrances by release time.

- WEAPONS -
There are a lot of new weapons but they are fairly cheesy and are still hard to pick up and use before the guy hits you. The stop sign is a whole sign and post, so it's used like a bat. And for some reason, they've assigned the Weapon attack button to the same one as Ground attack so you can't hit a guy with a weapon when he's down.

- FINISHERS -
It seems as if the guys at Acclaim wanted you to see all of the moves so far in the game because a lot of the finishers could be done at anytime. Example: Rock could perform the Rock Bottom by a simple F,B,U,Punch.

- SPECIAL NOTES -
1. Kurgan IS in the game.
2. There are plenty of system crashes and glitches/bugs in the game still but of course they will all be worked out by release time.
3. No ho's with Godfather.
4. The secret characters were not unlocked like last year. I saw no Sable, Chyna, or HBK.
5. Sound is great, even on the N64. N64 even has the lyrics to the songs since they have the new compression techniques. The only thing lacking in the N64 version's music is bass. The music is very "light." But it's really good and you probably wouldn't notice it.
